Once Upon A Katamari Rolls Onto Consoles and PC After 14 Years
After more than a decade, the King of All Cosmos and The Prince are back to roll again. Once Upon A Katamari, the latest entry in the beloved Katamari Damacy series, is out now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Developed by RENGAME and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, Once Upon A Katamari marks the series’ grand return after a 14-year hiatus. The story kicks off with the ever-clumsy King of All Cosmos accidentally destroying Earth, again, leaving it up to The Prince to roll up everything in sight and restore the stars to the heavens.
This time around, Katamari fans will journey across history itself. From the Jurassic Period to feudal Japan and even the Ice Age, players will roll their Katamari, the iconic ball that collects everything it touches, through different eras, gathering objects to rebuild the universe piece by piece.
Once Upon A Katamari introduces new power-ups, fresh customisation options, and an all-new competitive multiplayer mode. Players can pick from The Prince or one of 68 playable cousins, each customisable with unique colours and facial features.

The highlight for competitive rollers is KatamariBall, a four-player mode where players battle to create the biggest Katamari within a time limit. Whether online or offline against CPU opponents, KatamariBall brings chaotic fun and that classic Katamari charm to a new generation.
The game also brings back Katamari’s signature upbeat music, blending familiar tracks with new tunes that perfectly capture the game’s quirky and joyful energy. Combined with vibrant visuals and nostalgic gameplay, Once Upon A Katamari promises to be a treat for both long-time fans and newcomers.
Once Upon A Katamari is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam), and Nintendo Switch.
