PlayStation State of Play June 2026: God of War Laufey, Marvel's Wolverine, Until Dawn 2 and More Revealed

PlayStation's latest State of Play broadcast delivered one of the biggest showcases of 2026 so far, packed with major game reveals, long-awaited updates, and exciting surprises for PlayStation fans.

From the reveal of God of War Laufey and the first gameplay deep dive into Marvel's Wolverine, to the announcement of Until Dawn 2, PlayStation offered a glimpse at what could be one of the strongest upcoming line-ups in recent years.

Here's everything you need to know from the June 2026 PlayStation State of Play.

God of War Laufey Officially Revealed

The biggest surprise of the showcase came from Santa Monica Studio with the reveal of God of War Laufey, the next mainline entry in the iconic franchise.

For the first time, players will step into the role of Laufey (Faye), the legendary warrior and wife of Kratos. Following her death, Faye awakens in a mysterious realm known as The Everywhen, an afterlife where gods from across multiple mythologies battle for power.

As the plans she carefully put in place to protect Kratos and Atreus begin to unravel, Faye embarks on a dangerous journey through magical lands filled with deadly enemies, powerful deities, and hidden secrets.

Santa Monica Studio promises the same brutal combat and emotional storytelling that made previous God of War titles so beloved, while introducing a fresh perspective and a new hero at the centre of the story.

God of War Laufey is available to wishlist now and is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated PlayStation exclusives on the horizon.

Marvel's Wolverine Finally Shows Off Gameplay

After years of anticipation, Insomniac Games finally pulled back the curtain on Marvel's Wolverine with an extended gameplay showcase and new story details.

The action-packed single-player adventure follows Logan, better known as Wolverine, as he investigates the disappearance of a group of captured mutants. Standing in his way are the deadly cybernetic mercenaries known as the Reavers, who plan to deliver their prisoners to notorious anti-mutant industrialist Bolivar Trask.

The trailer also introduces fan-favourite X-Men character Jean Grey, who appears set to play a major role in the story.

Insomniac promises a darker and more brutal experience than its Spider-Man games, with savage claw combat, cinematic storytelling, and emotional character moments that explore the man behind the mutant.

Marvel's Wolverine launches on September 15, 2026, with pre-orders now live. Players who pre-order will receive:

  • Classic Brown Suit early unlock
  • Reflective Claws early unlock
  • Additional Technique Point
  • Four PlayStation avatars

A Digital Deluxe Edition featuring additional cosmetic content and gameplay bonuses has also been announced.

Until Dawn 2 Brings a New Horror Story to PS5

More than a decade after the original became a cult horror classic, PlayStation has officially announced Until Dawn 2.

Developed by Firesprite Games, the sequel introduces an entirely new cast and standalone story while retaining the choice-driven horror formula that made the original such a hit.

This time, players follow a team of paranormal content creators behind the popular ghost-hunting channel Dead True. Known for staging fake hauntings and manufactured scares, the crew suddenly find themselves confronted with genuine supernatural horrors.

As tensions rise and terrifying threats emerge, players will once again make life-or-death decisions that determine who survives until sunrise.

With branching storylines, psychological horror, and plenty of twists promised, Until Dawn 2 looks set to deliver another unforgettable horror experience when it arrives on PS5 in 2027.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls Expands Its Villain Roster

Each character will feature unique motivations and storylines that players can explore through the game's Episode Mode.

The reveal further expands what is already shaping up to be one of the most exciting Marvel fighting games in years.
