Pokémon GO Fest 2026 Is Bringing Melbourne Its Biggest Pokémon Event Yet

Melbourne Trainers, it’s time to charge your phones, clear your weekend plans, and prepare your Poké Balls because Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global is officially landing in Melbourne with what is set to be the city’s biggest Pokémon GO community event ever.

Taking over Queensbridge Square in Southbank on Saturday July 11 and Sunday July 12, the free event will bring together Pokémon fans from across Victoria and beyond for two massive days of raids, trading, community meet-ups, and exclusive experiences celebrating one of the biggest weekends in the Pokémon GO calendar.

Running daily from 9am to 5pm, the Melbourne activation will transform the Southbank location into a dedicated Trainer hub where players can connect, explore together, and celebrate all things Pokémon GO. Whether you are a longtime Trainer with a stacked Pokédex or someone jumping back into the game after years away, the event is designed to welcome fans of all ages and experience levels.

Attendees can expect immersive photo opportunities, community activities, and even a free Pikachu visor while supplies last. The event will also offer dedicated spaces for trading Pokémon, coordinating raids, and meeting fellow Trainers throughout the weekend.

Mega Mewtwo Finally Arrives in Pokémon GO

The biggest headline for Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global is the long-awaited debut of Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y in Pokémon GO through Super Mega Raid Battles.

For many Trainers, this marks one of the most anticipated additions the game has seen in years, with both Mega Evolutions finally making their way into raids during the global event weekend.

Players will also be able to complete Special Research to encounter the Mythical Pokémon Zeraora for the very first time in Pokémon GO, giving collectors another huge reason to log in during the event.

Adding even more excitement, Trainers will have the opportunity to encounter Pikachu wearing Team Instinct, Mystic, and Valor hats, with lucky players potentially finding shiny versions.

Bonuses Trainers Can Expect During Pokémon GO Fest 2026

Across the event weekend, players can enjoy a huge range of in-game bonuses, including:

  • Increased chances of encountering Shiny Pokémon;
  • Special Research and Timed Research;
  • Up to nine free Raid Passes per day;
  • Bonus trading features and expanded Gift limits.

Perhaps the biggest change of all is that Pokémon GO Fest: Global 2026 will be free for every Trainer participating during the event weekend, making this one of the most accessible GO Fest celebrations yet.
