Oz Comic-Con Sydney 2025: Celebrity Guests, Cosplay Championships & Pop Culture Magic

We might be halfway through the year, but the convention season is far from over, and one of the biggest events is right around the corner. Oz Comic-Con is back this September (20–21) in Sydney, bringing a jam-packed weekend of celebrity guests, incredible cosplay, and all the pop culture goodness your heart could want.

This year’s guest lineup is seriously stacked. Fans of the Arrowverse will be thrilled to meet Katie Cassidy, best known as Laurel Lance/Black Canary, and Supernatural fans can look forward to seeing DJ Qualls and Ty Olsson, two cult favourites with careers that span everything from Z Nation and Road Trip to Wynonna Earp and The 100.

In a special treat for long-time TV lovers, Renée O’Connor (aka Gabrielle from Xena: Warrior Princess) is hitting the stage in both Brisbane and Sydney, just in time for the show’s 30th anniversary. Anime fans, you’re in for a treat too, voice acting legend Tara Sands (Pokémon, Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece, Hunter x Hunter) is also making an appearance!

Cosplay lovers, get your costumes ready, the Oz Comic-Con Championships of Cosplay are back, with a $1500 prize and a spot in the Hall of Fame on the line. There’ll also be casual cosplay meetups, themed photoshoots, and hands-on workshops, so you can show off your skills or just soak in the creativity.

And of course, Artist Alley is a must-visit. Packed with incredible local and international talent, it’s the place to grab unique art, indie comics, and signed prints while chatting with the creators who made them.
