Entries Are Open for The Cosplay Central Crown Championships 2025

Think you’ve got what it takes to be cosplay royalty? The Australian leg of the Cosplay Central Crown Championships is officially open for entries, and it’s your chance to strut your handcrafted stuff on one of the biggest stages in the world.

Returning to PAX Aus 2025, held at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 10–12, the competition will once again bring together elite-level crafters, performance pros, and costume powerhouses in a bid to represent Australia at the global finals in London at MCM Comic Con in May 2026.

The stakes? Pretty major. The winner scores return flights to London, accommodation, badges to MCM London and PAX Aus 2026, a trophy, and of course, the honour of holding one of cosplay’s most prestigious titles. Just ask Henchwench, the 2024 Australian winner who went on to claim the 2025 world title.

And the judges? This year’s panel is a lineup of absolute icons.

  • Anaelic, originally from Scotland, brings more than a decade of cosplay experience and a fierce love of sharing knowledge. She’s worked with industry giants like Riot Games and HoYoverse, and recently took third place representing the UK in this very competition at C2E2 2025.

  • Henchwench, fresh off her global win, returns to judge with over 20 years of costume-making under her belt. Known for her professional work in film and games, she co-founded Hench & Scrap, a studio that turns cosplay into high art for major game studios.

  • And rounding out the panel is the ever-stylish Kayla Jean, whose pin-up-inspired looks and short-form fabric tutorials have taken the cosplay scene by storm. Expect her to bring both precision and panache to the judging table.

If you’ve been grinding away on your dream build, now’s the moment. The grand showdown will unfold on the PAX Aus Main Stage on Sunday, October 12.

But that’s not all. PAX Aus will be a full-blown cosplay celebration, with three days of panels, meet-ups, and the return of the Cosplay Lounge, your one-stop shop for repairs, makeup, changing space and photo ops.

Ready to take the crown, or just soak up the spectacle? Entries are open now, so get stitching.
