ATARASHII GAKKO! Are Bringing Their Chaotic Energy to Australia for the First Time

Japan’s most unpredictable musical export, ATARASHII GAKKO!, are officially marching their way down under this December, bringing their THE MARCHING OF AG! tour to Sydney and Melbourne.

The four-member powerhouse Mizyu, Rin, Suzuka, and Kanon will hit Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Thursday, 4 December, and Melbourne’s Festival Hall on Monday, 8 December, marking their first-ever Australian headline shows. If that wasn’t enough, they’ll also make a stop at the iconic Meredith Music Festival. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, 2 September at 2 pm local time via Frontier Touring, with a presale kicking off Monday, 1 September at 1 pm local time.

“Australia Calling! We’re so excited to be performing live in Australia for the very first time. We can’t wait to say ‘nice to meet you’ to so many of you and share this special moment together. Please come join us — we’re looking forward to exchanging energy with you face-to-face. See you there!” — ATARASHII GAKKO!

If you’re unfamiliar, ATARASHII GAKKO! (which translates to New School) are part J-pop, part rap, part acid-core chaos, and entirely their own thing. With choreography they create themselves and an unshakable mission to crush mediocrity, embrace individuality, and rescue fans from burnout culture, they’ve earned the title of “Youth Representative of Japan.”

The group skyrocketed into international stardom in 2021 under 88rising, thanks to their viral hit “OTONABLUE”, which blew up on TikTok with over 3.3 billion views. Since then, they’ve racked up more than 15 million followers, sold out shows across the globe, and played to over 110,000 fans on their last tour.

And they haven’t slowed down. In 2024 alone, AG! headlined the Gobi Stage at Coachella, hit festivals in New York and LA, and even stormed American late-night TV with a debut performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in their signature sailor uniforms.

Now, it’s finally Australia’s turn. If you’ve ever wanted to be part of a live show that feels less like a concert and more like a cultural earthquake, this is your moment.
