A brand-new anime and pop culture convention is about to shake up Australia’s fandom scene, with AniMayhem making its highly anticipated debut in Brisbane this May.
Landing at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on 2–3 May 2026, the fan-first event promises a high-energy celebration of anime, cosplay, gaming and otaku culture, created by the team behind Oz Comic-Con.
With international guests, live idol performances and immersive fan experiences, AniMayhem is already shaping up to be one of the most exciting new additions to Australia’s pop culture calendar.
International Guests and Live Idol Performances
Leading the lineup is PAiDA, a dystopia-pop idol known for her chaotic, high-concept performances. Hailing from Space City, Texas, PAiDA blends cosmic storytelling with high-energy music, and after touring the US and Japan, she’s bringing her unique brand of “cute chaos” to Brisbane.
Joining her is A-MUSE Project, a local fan-favourite idol group delivering original music, vibrant performances and meet-and-greet opportunities. With appearances including the Tokyo Idol Festival Asia Tour, they’re set to bring serious stage energy to AniMayhem.
Itasha Cars and Visual Spectacle
Beyond the stage, fans can immerse themselves in anime culture through a vibrant Itasha Car Display, a growing fandom subculture where vehicles are transformed into rolling tributes to beloved characters and series.
Expect bold, eye-catching designs and plenty of photo opportunities, as these custom builds turn the expo floor into a moving gallery of anime artistry.
