Don’t Stop, Girlypop! - The Y2K Arena Shooter That Never Stops Moving
If you love fast-paced shooters with a touch of Y2K nostalgia, then Don’t Stop, Girlypop! is about to shoot straight into your heart. Developed by Perth-based indie team Funny Fintan Softworks, this vibrant arena movement shooter promises an adrenaline-fueled experience where standing still is not an option.
Keep Moving, Keep Fighting
At the core of Don’t Stop, Girlypop! is a unique gameplay mechanic—motion equals power. The faster you move, the more damage you deal and the more you heal. Featuring a movement system that combines bunny hopping, ground slams, dashes, and double jumps, players will find themselves in a state of constant, precise flow. This fusion of classic boomer shooter mechanics with contemporary mobility ensures non-stop action where momentum is your greatest weapon.
Unleash the Love, Unleash the Mayhem
Armed with an arsenal of guns that feature creative alt-fires, players can discover symbiotic weapon interactions that create dynamic combat moments. Chaining together high-damage combos isn’t just satisfying—it also earns players high Love scores, rewarding mastery and skillful play. The combat system is deep, strategic, and designed for those who thrive on high-energy, high-intensity battles.

A Fight for Love Against Corporate Greed
In Don’t Stop, Girlypop!, players take on the role of a resistance fighter battling against the mining corporation Tigris Nix. This soulless entity seeks to drain the world of The Love, a natural force that keeps the planet alive. Every robotic drone you destroy releases The Love back into the environment, turning combat into a literal act of healing. With every battle, you bring the world one step closer to freedom and strike a blow against corporate greed.
Style That Kills
Aesthetics matter in Don’t Stop, Girlypop!, and players can personalize their character with dazzling customizations. Adorn your weapons with butterflies, paint yourself in pink chrome, or don the ultimate flex—quintuple denim. This Y2K-inspired art direction brings a nostalgic yet fresh visual experience, setting it apart from traditional shooters.
Meet the Minds Behind the Madness
Funny Fintan Softworks is a two-person indie team based in Perth/Boorloo, Western Australia. Founded by Jane in 2020, the studio is co-led by Jane and Rachel, who share a passion for fast, classic first-person shooters and tight gameplay loops. Before Don’t Stop, Girlypop!, the team worked on Incolatus, a first-person shooter that started as a school project but evolved into a full-time endeavour with support from Screen Australia and Screenwest. Their love for fluid movement, stylish combat, and immersive world-building is evident in every aspect of their latest project.
Game Director Jane Fiona reflects on the journey of bringing Don’t Stop, Girlypop! to life:
"Don’t Stop, Girlypop! feels very personal to me. Obviously, I wouldn't be here without the incredible team we have today, but in the journey from Incolatus to Don’t Stop, Girlypop! I feel like I’ve been able to explore my own self – it’s everything I ever wanted out of a video game! The only reason I’m still going in my sixth year of developing this is because we’re constantly reinventing it and making it more interesting to ourselves. They said the girlypop movement shooter would never get published! They were wrong! They said 'make something of smaller scope for your first ever game' – they were probably right on that one! But here we are hahahah."
While the release date and price are yet to be announced, Don’t Stop, Girlypop! is shaping up to be a must-play for fans of fast, stylish shooters, particularly if you have a love fo all things fabulous.
